My principal research interests are:

  • The impact of governance structures and institutions on decision-making
  • Assessment of the sustainability of transport from local to international scales
  • The future of transport for an aging population
  • Public attitudes to transport and the environment and its impact on effective policy
  • The role of information (indicators, appraisal systems and targets) on the dynamics of public policy decision-making

I currently hold an ESRC climate change leadership fellowship "Transitions in Practice: Climate change and everyday life", and am part of the Sustainable Practices Research group funded by ESRC/DEFRA/Scottish Government funded. My latest research interests include:

  • Energy demand, indoor climates and cooling
