Undergraduate Programmes
The Institute for Transport Studies works in partnership with the University’s School of Geography and the Business School to offer the two vocationally orientated undergraduate degree programmes:
- BA Geography with Transport Planning (UCAS code: L7N9)
- BSc Economics with Transport Studies (UCAS code: L1N9)
Both programmes provide a firm grounding in the core discipline, with about one-third of the programme devoted to specialist transport topics. Students have the flexibility to choose which optional and elective modules they take, and thus control the balance between transport and the other discipline. The dedicated transport modules are also available as electives to students on other degree programmes.
The programmes have the benefit of providing greater choice of future career path – by opening the way for a career in transport or a career based on the other discipline. A key characteristic of students graduating from these programmes is thus their enhanced employability.
