Name: Gyeng Chul Kim

Company: Korea Transport Institute (KOTI)

Position: President

ITS Course: PhD program, 1991 - 1993

Since September 2011, I have been in charge as the 12th President of Korea Transport Institute (KOTI), a Korean government-funded research institute. My main responsibility is to raise the institute’s research and consulting capability to the level of world-class transport and logistics institute and thus contributing for public benefits.

I believe that what I learned at ITS has enriched my experience and was a great help for me to work as a president of KOTI, Korea's premier think- tank for national transportation policies.

I chose my course and Leeds because Professor Tony May recommended me to join ITS.

My advice to new students considering an ITS course at Leeds would be to think about how to make the world a better place for the benefit of other people, and how to share knowledge on best practices with others for mutual benefits.
